2000 – 2003 BA Honours in Fine Art, Northumbria University
Katy Cole is a visual artist based at The Newbridge Project in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her work uses collage, drawing, painting and installation to explore potential futures. She manipulates scale and imagery to traverse the line between fact and fiction, creating prospective dystopian environments.
In 2012 Katy was invited to exhibit in the Frieze Week exhibition by Plus Arts Projects in London and following that took part in VII Biennale de Soncino in Italy. In 2014 she completed the Generator residency in Venice, Italy before exhibiting at both Baltic 39 and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in They Used to Call it the Moon. Recent projects have included Katy’s first solo exhibition at Lime Street Gallery in Newcastle and in October 2016 she took part in the second Inland Arts Festival in Cornwall.
